So many of you have given us words of knowledge and shared your experience with us. We are grateful for all the information that has been shared with us. We are learning so much! I think as a result our family will be healthier for this experience. I am so tickled when I hear stories of friends who are becoming more health conscience and acting on it because of our experience. It truly makes my heart glad to know others are working on improving their lives through nutrition.
I wanted to share a little about what I am doing differently for those of you who are interested.
Because of the help of friends I have been able to eat organic vegetables (mostly green), eggs and chicken. I am also taking many supplements. We are working with a nature path and a nurse friend who helped us determine a plan for this time to help my body stay well and hopefully withstand against some of the effects of chemo.
We have seen a huge difference in my body. I have responded very well to this plan, I am feeling stronger, resting better and not crashing like I have in the past. I don’t feel hopeless about my energy levels but have hope that I can be healthy and well. My skin is better, my teeth have even seemed better!
Some of these changes have not been the easiest, some have been challenging. My “green mud” drink is packed with vitamins and good things but I can assure you it has not been the easiest drink to gulp down. However, my taste buds are coming to accept it and it is not as bad as I first thought it to be!
My best friend and I have always done crazy sugar fasts together. We would go off sugar for weeks or even months at a time. Sometimes we would also go off grains. I have to say a BIG thank you to her. Those experiences have helped trained me for this time. I was able to walk into this diet lifestyle easily enough. I haven’t had sugar withdrawals although one morning the kids oatmeal with peanut butter smelled pretty darn yummy!! Overall it has been a very doable diet.
The help of friends providing meals and groceries has helped make it easy and accessible. I have not had to grocery shop the past few weeks. I reluctantly agreed to this help. After all I did not feel like I needed the help before treatment began.
Thankfully my friends were more stubborn than I had the energy to be! It has turned into a huge blessing. In the midst of appointments and trying to soak up family and memories before this next stage it has been so nice to not have to worry about meals or grocery shopping.
God is showing me it is okay to be on the receiving end. It has always been a hard place for me to be, I much prefer to be giving. However, he is replacing my misgivings with His truth and showing his love and faithfulness over and over. I am finally having eyes to see it, and my heart is softened to receive it. I am grateful and richly blessed in more ways than I can possibly count.

What an amazing and truely inspiring family you all are. I was shocked to hear about what y’all are having to go through last week when I saw Chris. He said Grace is doing well now which is such wonderful news! I have been praying for your sweet family and have been blessed reading this blog by your faith and firm belief in Him. Thank you for sharing your story and we will be praying for you every step of the way! Stay strong! Through Him all things are possible and your journey is testimony of that.
