We survived our first day of chemo.
It was a very long day, we arrive at 845 and left after 5. We shut the place down! In fact our nurse stayed with us instead of handing us off to another nurse even though her shift was over. She wanted to see us through. She was super sweet, we felt blessed to have her. She was a believer and spoke encouraging words to us all day. She is also health conscience and offered some good advice along those lines. We hope we will have her in the future.
Prayers were felt all day, we remained at peace. Turmoil just couldn’t take root. In fact the only tears that were shed were when we opened and read some sweet notes given to us. It was the highlight of our day. 🙂
We were grieved as we read the story of our friend’s friend’s son’s battle with cancer. He is not doing well. His name is Bennett, he is precious. You can visit his website here if you’d like to read his story. I know they would appreciate prayers on his behalf.
Other than being really tired and my back being sore from compensating from the port install, Â I feel fine. I am grateful.
We came home to a delicious dinner. A friend made us an all organic meal with salmon!! I am not a fish eater, but because of the benefits of the fish I decided I would do my best to eat it. It was actually tasty and very nice to have this really extravagant meal. Everyone enjoyed it! It was all very healthy!! It was a nice way to return home.
We watched an episode of “I Love Lucy” with the kids before heading to bed. As the night wore on, I grew more tired, but so far no other hard symptoms.
We will return to the doctor’s office for a booster shot Friday afternoon.
Thank you again for all the support. We are very grateful.
